Hey guys.
If you missed your chance to get a shirt… you're in luck! We are accepting orders again from http://www.creameryshop.com/jmuvt starting today (Not to be trite, but… Christmas presents? Eh?). We've hosted our final local pick-up, so any new orders will be shipped. As per usual, they're $20 each, and that includes shipping and handling and taxes and all that nonsense.
PAY-WITH-CASH NEXT WEEK
A lot of you had been asking if you could pay with cash, so we've decided to host a pay-with-cash day next week. On Monday, 10/15, we'll be outside of S.O.S. Advertising (on the corner of Grace St. and South High St. by Memorial Hall and the Art Studio) from noon to 4pm. It's about a 5 minute walk from the quad. Shirts will be making their last $17 appearance, so come on by and save a few bucks vs. the online orders! Supply will be limited, so come early.
We'd once again like to apologize to all of those whose orders were tied up for any period of time in the last two months. We do have plenty of shirts on hand now, and we have safe guards in place to prevent anything like that from happening again. Shirts should now ship within a day or two, with 6 business days being the absolute latest. As always, feel free to send an email to thanksgivingcameearly@gmail.com if you have any questions.
Happy (early) Thanksgiving! Heh.
- Ben and Rick
All the shirts came in today! All, or at least the majority of them, should be printed up and ready to distribute by the end of the weekend. That means that next week most everyone will be getting their shirts! We wish that we could have had them in time for homecoming, but primarily we're just excited to finally have enough to give to everyone!
Like always, if you requested local pick-up, you will be emailed with the time and place. We'll probably be manning the table well into the evening this week to hopefully accomodate everyone's schedules. If you wanted your shirt to be shipped, we'll be processing and mailing those as fast as possible, and with any luck should be able to get them all out in the coming week as well.
Hey there!
If you haven't heard of Murphy's Law, google it. Because that pretty much sums up the last 3 weeks for us. If you have been wondering about the details, the next paragraph gives a play by play:
DETAILS
On September 23rd, Paypal freezes our account, preventing us from withdrawing money and thus making it impossible to produce more shirts. Nine days later (10/2), after several calls to customer service, the hold is lifted. We immediately (within the hour) request a check. Soon thereafter, we find that our printer can't order more shirts until the money is in hand. So we wait. Another 9 days later (10/11), we receive the check from paypal in the mail, but (of course) it's Columbus Day and the banks are closed. On October 12th, 15 minutes after the bank opens, we deposit the check and pay our printer. The order is placed for 800 blank purple t-shirts.
PRODUCTION STATUS
We were luckily able to get about 100 more shirts on Monday the 11th. A few dozen more, perhaps, could be in this week, but the order of 800 will be in and begin production by this weekend. That will be enough to get EVERYONE their shirt. If nothing goes wrong, that will happen next week.
UNANSWERED EMAILS / MESSAGES
We apologize for being more or less out of contact this past week. Midterm projects and exams just made it impossible to keep up with all the emails and messages and phone calls. We are, after all, just two full time students managing this entire thing. We've made plenty of sacrifices, the least of which were nights of sleep, to make you guys a priority in our lives this past month. Know that we are not AT ALL sitting idle over here. Although I don't think this really needs to be stated, we have no intention whatsoever of ripping anybody off in any way. Neither of us has seen any of the profits yet either, seriously: not until everyone gets their shirts.
WAITING
To an extent, a lot of this has been a waiting game (waiting for paypal to contact buyers and verify us, to send a check, etc), which has been very frustrating. We're waiting right along with you guys. We absolutely, unequivocally CANNOT WAIT to be able to give each and every person the shirt that they purchased. The very last thing we want is to make people unhappy, or for this to be a negative experience whatsoever.
I'll try to go through the Facebook messages and emails and answer the more specific questions, but hopefully this has answered the main question we've been getting, which is "what is the status of my order?" Remember that email (thanksgivingcameearly@gmail.com) is always a better way than facebook messages to get in touch.
The warmest of regards,
Ben & Rick
